Executive Vice President, Human Resources
Rebecca Steele joined Acosta as executive vice president of human resources in
March 2009. She began her career with the Marriott Corporation in
Washington D.C. providing human resources support for the food service
management division and corporate acquisitions. Steele’s experience also
includes human resource management positions with Blue Cross Blue Shield of
Florida, A. Foster Higgins consulting firm in California and First Hospital
Corporation. In 1995 she joined Stein Mart Inc. a national fashion
merchandise retailer where she held several human resource positions including
director of organizational development, director of training and development
and vice president of human resources. As the vice president of human resources
Steele was responsible for all human resource functions including
organizational development, talent management, benefits and compensation,
training and employee relations. Steele is a graduate of Virginia Tech
with a master’s degree in education and instructional design. She is the
on the advisory board for the Retail Center at Florida State and serves as
chairman of the board of Habitat for Humanity, Jacksonville, Florida.
